The Asian Pacific Society of Cardiology (APSC) Congress was recently held in Singapore from 13th to 15th July 2023. As part of the congress, Cardiac Society Brunei held a conjoint session with Taiwan Society of Cardiology to discuss “Latest in Hypertension Management”. The session was co-chaired by Dr Nadzir Juanda (President of Cardiac Society Brunei) and Dr Wen Jan Chen (Taiwan) with a panel consisiting of Dr Rajinikanth Rajagopal (Brunei) and Dr Mei-Lin Ong (Malaysia).
The session was kicked off with a talk on “Challenges in Brunei Relating to Hypertension” delivered by Dr Lau Bee-Ngo (Brunei). This was followed by an enlightening talk on “Self-Management of Hypertension in Post-COVID Era” by Dr Jiunn-Lee Lin (Taiwan). Dr Izyan Mohammad (Brunei) then discussed “Young Hypertension: Definitions and Management” and Dr Tzung-Dau Wang (Taiwan) ended the session with his talk on “2022 Taiwan Hypertension Guidelines: Hypertension Management To Empower Patients”. ¬¬
The APSC Congress was attended by over 1,600 attendees from 45 countries with more than 70 sessions and pre-congress workshops.
